“The only way to do great work is to love what you do.”
-Steve Jobs

Chris Calihan was raised in central Massachusetts with his two brothers and even at that time frequently sought out the most challenging endeavors. He was a member of the National Honor Society, played varsity soccer for four years and was selected to be captain. He also lettered in golf, learned German, attended Massachusetts Boys State to learn governance, was chosen as a student representative in one of the first visits to Russia in 1992 after the collapse of the Soviet Union, was designated a State All Star in soccer, was awarded an ROTC Scholarship, and travelled to Amsterdam to play soccer in the Holland Cup prior to attending university.

After successfully completing the baccalaureate program as a distinguished military student at Indiana University while also a full time Army ROTC cadet, he was commissioned in the US Army Infantry. Chris served with distinction for ten years as an Airborne Ranger Infantry Officer. He was stationed in Georgia; Quantico, Virginia; SETAF, Italy; and Germany. He completed three tours in the Middle East as a Platoon Leader, Division Operations Planner, and most recently as an Infantry Company Commander. While deployed, he engaged local sheiks in Al Anbar Province, Iraq to build lasting relationships and effectuate security, utilities, schools, and rule of law in nation-building. Among his other decorations, Chris was awarded two Bronze Star Medals, the Combat Infantryman Badge, and the Order of Saint Maurice.

Following his Honorable Discharge, Chris attended the University of Miami School of Law. He interned at the ACLU and Miami Public Defender’s Office before receiving his Juris Doctor cum laude and graduating in the top third of his class. Chris is admitted to the Florida Bar and admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. Chris joined Hightower & Partners and continues to fight hard to provide exemplary service and deliver excellent results to his clients through research, preparation, and attention to detail.

Chris lives in Boca Raton, and interests outside of the law include soccer, motorcycles, outdoors, and travelling with his family. He practices in various areas of civil litigation including toxic torts, construction defects, motor vehicle negligence, property damage, premises liability, bodily injury, products liability, and landlord-tenant law. His pro bono work supports small business owners, wronged tenants, children, and veterans.
